Special Access Scheme Medicines
The Special Access Scheme (SAS) refers to arrangements that enable the import and/or supply of unapproved medicines that are not included on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods. SAS medicines are intended for use in exceptional clinical circumstances, where clinicians have considered all available treatment options before applying for a medicine under the SAS.
Special Access Scheme medicines are provided for individual patients on a case by case basis. The scheme enables medical practitioners to provide the highest level of clinical care for their patients while maintaining a leading edge in their field of practice.
With more than 40 years’ experience in accessing and importing SAS medicines, we can provide you with the clinical assistance you require in order to apply for unregistered medicines. Our specialised pharmacists possess the clinical skills and knowledge to support your patients to access SAS category medicines and provide valuable medication counselling.
